About

Andrew is a litigation attorney with a passion for social justice.
Since May 2016, he has been an attorney at the D.C. Tenants' Rights Center, a low-cost law firm whose mission is making sure D.C. tenants know their rights and how best to exercise them, both in and outside the courtroom. The D.C. Tenants' Rights Center is the only private law firm in D.C. that represents only tenants. It provides affordable, high-quality legal services that range from one-time consultations to full representation in lawsuits at trial and on appeal. If you are a D.C. tenant who is having a dispute with your landlord, or if you'd simply like to know about your rights as a tenant, you can contact Andrew at (202) 681-6871.
Beyond the D.C. Tenants' Rights Center, Andrew is a contract attorney with the D.C. Bar Pro Bono Center, where he supervises volunteer attorneys at the Pro Bono Center's Advice & Referral Clinic, a monthly walk-in clinic serving D.C. residents with civil legal issues. Andrew also works with the Pro Bono Center's Advocacy & Justice Clinic as a volunteer "expert mentor," assisting pro bono attorneys with legal and procedural issues that they encounter in litigation before D.C. Superior Court and D.C. Office of Administrative Hearings. Andrew is active in the legal profession as a member of the Washington Council of Lawyers (WCL), American Constitution Society, and American Bar Association. He is currently Co-Chair of WCL's 2018-2019 Mentoring Program, which pairs new lawyers with experienced attorney-mentors and hosts a series of events focused on careers in public interest law. Andrew's professional interests include trial practice, appeals, written and oral advocacy, civil rights, environmental law, American Indian law, the U.S. Supreme Court, and the relationship between law, politics, and society.
Andrew is a member of the bars of the District of Columbia, Massachusetts, New York, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.
