  I had the pleasure of working with Carlton through his volunteer involvement at the West Hartford Chamber of Commerce. He played a key role in the strategic and operational activities of the Chamber. Carlton was a member of the Executive Committee, chaired the Manufacturers' Roundtable Committee, and was also an active member of the Marketing Committee. He graciously accepted invitations to be the welcoming host for an upcoming ribbon cutting or business after hours event, and regularly invited new acquaintances to attend upcoming Chamber activities.   I have had the opportunity to work with Carlton on both business as well as a colleague. During research for my first book, Carlton was my point of contact at Colt Defense. He was a conscience guard for intellectual property and proprietary information on behalf of Colt Defense. Few years later we became colleges when I went to work for Colt Defense.
