Eldon is the Founder and Managing Attorney of Looby Law, PLLC. His practice is primarily focused in the areas of business law, litigation, eDiscovery, family and matrimonial law. His clients consist of individuals, families and businesses ranging from solopreneur start-ups to SMEs (small and medium enterprises). Acquisition International has recognized him as Best in Business Start-Formations & Transaction Law - New York, and the National Black Lawyers: Top 100 has recognized him as one of the Top 100 Black Lawyers in the area of Business Transactions - New York.
In addition to his work in business law, Eldon is an experienced litigator, particularly in the area of family and matrimonial law. Under his leadership, the firm has been recognized by Business Worldwide as recipient of the Global Excellence Award for Best Litigation Firm - New York, and Litigator of the Year by Acqisotion International. Eldon has also represented clients in litigation before the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New New York, the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board, in arbitration proceedings before the National Association of Securities Dealers (now FINRA) and various New York courts. He has also represented both landlords and tenants in disputes and litigation; provided counsel and litigated personal injury matters, and also served as counsel for both buyers and sellers in residential real estate purchases and real estate litigation.
He counsels individuals on labor & employment issues, including both litigation and appeals of wrongful terminations and advises companies on labor, employment and intellectual property issues. Eldon’s expertise in the labor and employment space resulted in the firm being recently recognized by CV Magazine as recipient of its Global Corporate Excellence Award for Employment Law Firm of the Year.
Eldon has been recognized in the area of family law by ACQ5 Magazine as Family Litigation Lawyer of the Year, as well as one of the 10 Best Family Law Attorneys for Client Satisfaction - New York by the American Institute of Family Law Attorneys. He is also named by the National Advocates as one of the Top 100 Lawyers in New York for Matrimonial and Family Law. Eldon also provides counsel on family law matters such as child custody, and support matters; provides advice to clients on prenuptial agreements, contested and uncontested divorces, as well as the preparation of qualified domestic relations orders (QDROs). He has also counseled clients on estate planning issues and prepared wills.
Over the years, Eldon has also established a reputation in the eDiscovery and Legal Project Management space for building and motivating eDiscovery teams while ensuring quality work product. According to a Director of Project Management he has worked with “…what separates Eldon from all other [team] leads is that he manages to get his reviewers to care about the work product too. He coaches and cajoles, but he primarily sets an example they can’t help but follow.”
Eldon is also a New York City Small Claims Arbitrator and Notary Public in New York State. He is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Harlem Symphony Orchestra and served in the U.S. Army Reserve for eight years.
Prior to founding and leading LoobyLaw in 2018, Eldon was the Founder and Principal Attorney at the Law Offices of Eldon L. Looby. During his 12 years with that firm, he grew it into a small yet formidable office that was often considered in the company of larger firms with regards to the breadth and depth of its strategic and results-driven solutions. From 2006-2008, he led Looby & Sundaran, LLP as Co-Founding, Senior and Managing Partner. At LoobySundaran, Eldon oversaw that firm's expansion and opening of offices in India, technology deployments, and led that firm’s Real Estate and Landlord and Tenant practices.
