Matt Boulton's original plan was to use his law degree in the corporate world. During law school, however, he discovered the joy of representing clients in the courtroom. Assisting individuals and families through some of the most difficult and important issues of their lives is his primary focus.Matt started his career by gaining experience working in a large plaintiff's personal injury firm, but his passion for helping others led him to open Boulton Law Group to be able to offer each of his clients the personal attention their case deserves. Matt has been representing injured people in Indiana for over 21 years. Since 1996, he has concentrated his practice on matters involving serious personal injury and wrongful death, including vehicle, motorcycle, and tractor-trailer collisions, slip and falls, dog attacks, as well as negligent security cases. Matt has extensive experience managing all phases of injury claims, including dispute resolution and trial proceedings. Matt takes pride in serving his clients and being actively involved in all stages of a case: "Seeing the impact we've had on a client's quality of life is what makes my work worthwhile."Before opening Boulton Law Group, LLC in 2014, Matt managed the litigation department of a large plaintiff's personal injury law firm for over 13 years. His detailed preparation serves the interests of his clients throughout the claim process. During his years practicing law, Matt has earned the respect of defense attorneys and a reputation for earning positive outcomes for clients.Matt has met the qualifications and become a Lifetime Member of the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. He is a Sustaining Member of the Indiana Trial Lawyers Association, as well as a member of the Indiana State Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan, and the American Association for Justice. Matt lends his time to local legal organizations in various roles, such as speaking at educational programs, as well as serving as a judge for trial competitions.He has completed the National Institute for Trial Advocacy's Trial Skills Seminar and has attended regional programs of the Spence Trial Lawyers College. Matt is admitted to practice in the states of Indiana and Michigan, and before the Federal District Courts of Southern and Northern Indiana. In 2016, Matt was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court.In 2014, Matt underwent the required training and is now a Registered Civil Mediator. He was honored as a Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers Rising Star in both 2009 and 2011 and has received an AV-Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell. Matt has presented before the Indianapolis Bar Association during its Top 10 Litigation Tips Seminar, as well as the National Business Institute during its Advanced Issues in Personal Injury Litigation Seminar.A native of Agoura Hills, California, Matt graduated from Agoura High School. He received his Bachelor's degree in History from Indiana University in 1993, before attending Drake University Law School. While attending law school, Matt served as Articles Editor for the Drake Journal of Agricultural Law.Matt and his family are residents of Brownsburg, and supporters of the Brownsburg Public Library and the Brownsburg Education Foundation. A dedicated fan of Indiana University athletics, he enjoys cheering on the Hoosiers with his wife, Lara, and sons, Andrew and William.Matt is an active member of the Rotary Club of Brownsburg, and is former Scholarship Chair, and a Past President and Board member of the Central Indiana Chapter of the Indiana University Alumni Association.
