About

I'm a native San Diegan, who has lived in Southern California for most of my life.  Like most natives, I enjoy outdoor activities like hiking Torrey Pines or strolling through Balboa Park...anything that puts me outside.  I also enjoy spending time with my family, and especially watching my nephew play lacrosse!  Seeking out new shops and restaurants in various neighborhoods around town is also a favorite past time.
I love San Diego and am passionate about helping small businesses succeed and grow here.  For that reason, my practice is primarily dedicated to business and employment law.  I enjoy helping new business owners start out on the right foot by selecting the most advantageous entity structure, drafting the necessary contracts to limit their risk, and educating employers on regarding best practices to help avoid running afoul of descrimination and wage and hour laws.
California has some of the most onerous and complex employment laws and it is easy to make an innocent mistake.  Unfortunately, these mistakes can be costly.  When these situations arise, my job is to help my clients navigate the legal waters by advising them regarding their legal options, defending civil lawsuits or administrative claims, and negotiating settlements if liability exists.
I also help business owners when there is a dispute amongst them.  Business relationships are like marriages...they don't always work out.  And when it doesn't, I help my clients through the business divorce, which may include filing a lawsuit if the business partner is breaching his or her fiduciary duties to the company or partners.  Like any divorce, these matters can be bitter, long, and costly.  My goal is to provide clients with practical solutions that put them in a position of leverage in preparation for the negotiation or battle, and to resolve the dispute as quickly as possible to limit the damage to the business.
