About

With an office in Fishers, Indiana, Greenwood, Indiana and Rockville, Indiana, Susan M. Hunter’s estate planning practice is focused on guiding her clients through the process of balancing family protection with wealth preservation and family values.
Susan received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Hanover College, her law degree from Salmon P. Chase College of Law at Northern Kentucky University, and was admitted to the Indiana Bar in 1997.
Her areas of expertise include: Estate Planning, Elder Law, Asset Protection, Estate Administration, Trust Administration, Medicaid Planning, Probate, and Special Needs Planning.
Susan determined early in her career that focusing only on the wealth of the client was not the type of practice she wanted to participate in. Estate planning should not just preserve someone’s pocket book after they pass away, it should preserve who you are and what’s important to you.
Her belief is that everyone wants to be treated like a person, not like a check book. She wanted to be a part of a law firm that treated the clients the way she would want her family to be treated. Thus in 2001, Hunter Law Office began on her dining room table with a phone and a few clients.
Since becoming an attorney, Susan has become affiliated with many organizations. She is a member of the American Bar Association, the Indiana State Bar Association (the Elder Law, Real Property, Trust and Probate, and the Small Firm Sections) as well as the Hamilton County Bar Association. She also is an active member of Lawyers with Purpose (“LWP”) where she is a mentor coach and national instructor, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA). She is on the Riverview Hospital Foundation Community Relations Board and is also President of the Allisonville Professional Center’s Owners Association.
Susan has been a resident of Hamilton County since 1996 and resides in Noblesville with her husband Mark, and three rescue dogs, Wilbur, Willow, and Wrigley. She considers herself a “lifetime learner” and enjoys photography and travel in her free time.
