Attorney Alexa J. Kwartin is dedicated to assisting families as they navigate the difficult issues that often arise in family law matters. She understands that family-centered legal matters are very often draining and stressful, and she strives to meet the needs of her clients in a comprehensive and compassionate way. She is a responsible, talented, and experienced attorney whose primary goal is to serve the families of Atlanta as they proceed through difficult family transitions. Alexa practices in all of the metro Atlanta counties.
Alexa was born and raised in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Having grown up with divorced parents, she has experienced first-hand the complexities and stress involved in family law matters. Alexa tailors her approach to each individual client and his or her family, as all families are different. If settlement is possible, Alexa uses a variety of negotiation, mediation, and personal skills to help her clients reach amicable resolutions. When settlement is not an option, Alexa assists her clients through any litigation necessary to secure the desired resolution.
Prior to joining Kwartin & Levine, LLP as a Partner, Alexa was the owner and managing partner of Kwartin Law Office. Before founding her own practice, Alexa worked for a metro Atlanta family law firm. Alexa has always focused her practice solely on Family Law and has worked with hundreds of clients with family law needs.
Alexa received her Bachelor’s Degree in English and Economics from Emory University in 2008 and received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida’s Levin College of Law in 2011. While in law school, Alexa was Chair of the Law School Honor Committee, and received honors such as Dean’s List recognition and a Certificate of Outstanding Achievement for her Pro Bono Work. Alexa focused her studies on family law and earned a Certificate in Family Law.
During law school, Alexa worked as a Summer Associate for a family law firm in Atlanta. She also participated in the law school’s Full Representation Family Law Clinic representing clients with divorce, legitimation, paternity, custody, child support, contempt, and modification cases. She volunteered countless hours of her time assisting indigent clients as well as working as a Guardian ad Litem for children removed from their homes due to abuse and neglect.
Alexa is the current Vice President of Mentoring on the Board of the Georgia Association for Women Lawyers (GAWL). For the past three years, Alexa and her committee have overseen three large scale programs for female attorneys with over 200 participants in Georgia. Alexa takes an active role leading several networking and discussion groups in the legal community. She is also a member of the Family Law section of the State Bar of Georgia and the Atlanta Bar Association’s Family Law Section and Solo/Small Firm Section. Alexa was one of a select group of experienced attorneys to graduate from the 2017 GAWL Leadership Academy. Alexa is a registered mediator and is available to mediate civil, domestic relations, and domestic violence matters.
In her free time, Alexa enjoys taking long walks with Daisy (her dog), traveling to exotic countries, art festivals, gardening, crafts and DIY projects, cooking and trying new restaurants, playing with Sabika (her cat), and spending time with friends, family, and her fiancé Zach. Alexa lives in Brookhaven along with Zach, Daisy, and Sabika.
