I am the founder of Anthony J. Cincotta, P.C. I founded the firm in 1997 and have over 30 years of experience having been admitted to practice law in New Jersey and New York in 1985. I am admitted to practice before the New Jersey and New York State and federal courts, including the Second and Third Circuits, District Court of New Jersey, District Court for the Eastern District of New York and District Court for the Southern District of New York. I also serve as a New Jersey, Rule 1:40 Qualified Mediator on the Roster of New Jersey Court approved Mediators in the Counties of Bergen, Burlington, Essex, Hudson, Mercer, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean, Passaic, Somerset and Union.
I am a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Monmouth Bar Association, and a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Section and an Editor of the New Jersey State Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Quarterly. I am also a member (as a Master/Bencher) of the Sidney Reitman Employment Law Inn of Court, a program dedicated to Labor and Employment law. I am also a member of the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators and the New Jersey State Bar Association Alternate Dispute Resolution Section. I have served on the Monmouth Bar Association Labor and Employment Law Committee and have been a lecturer and author on labor and employment law and ERISA.
I represent clients in counseling, litigation, mediation and arbitration. I represent clients in traditional labor (union-management area) and employment matters, contract negotiations, contracts, general business matters, commercial litigation, shareholder disputes, insurance coverage disputes and public contracts and public bidding. Regarding labor and employment, I represent clients on all types of traditional labor and employment law and employee relations matters, including litigation in the federal and state courts and administrative agencies. Practice before federal and state courts and administrative agencies include matters respecting wrongful discharge, employment discrimination, sexual harassment, equal opportunity claims, employment agreements, trade secrets, restrictive covenants, confidentiality agreements, employee benefit claims, ERISA, wage and hour, and other employment-related litigation.  The labor practice includes NLRB representational and unfair labor practice and compliance proceedings, negotiation and administration of collective bargaining agreements, grievance and arbitration proceedings under collective bargaining agreements, strike preparation and injunctions of strikes. I also counsel and assist employers in drafting employee policies and handbooks, employment agreements, non-competition agreements, restrictive covenant agreements, confidentiality agreements, severance agreements, waivers and releases.
I am dedicated to providing quality legal representation to institutional and individual clients who demand the sophistication and expertise of a large law firm but who can also benefit from the individualized client services. Prior to opening my own practice in 1997, I practiced at prominent law firms in New York and New Jersey where I gained experience in the practice of law and developed my philosophy that a Firm can represent the client with the sophistication and expertise of a large law firm and provide individual client attention and services.
