Few people have the opportunity to have a great co-worker like Jared in two different jobs. I first had the pleasure of working with Jared while we were both at Florida's Second District Court of Appeal. Then I recommended Jared for an open position at the appellate department at Butler. Jared did not disappoint during the nearly five years we worked together at Butler. I was particularly impressed with Jared's ability to decipher the appellate rules and the various local rules of the state and federal courts. And he was a great sounding board for me. Jared would be an asset for any appellate team.

About

Jared is a Florida Bar Board Certified Appellate Lawyer. He focuses his practice on appeals and civil litigation support, with over a decade of appellate experience in both state and federal courts.
After obtaining his Juris Doctor and Masters in Business Administration from Stetson Law, Jared began his legal career with several years in the Florida Second District Court of Appeal—first as a Central Staff Attorney and later as a Senior Staff Attorney to the Honorable Darryl C. Casanueva. Jared left the court to practice with the appellate group of a national insurance defense firm. He ultimately joined DPW Legal in early 2017.
Jared has successfully represented businesses and individuals in cases in the Federal Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Florida, all five of Florida’s District Courts of Appeal, and several Florida Circuit Courts’ appellate divisions. He has provided civil litigation assistance in both state and federal courts, including complex and dispositive motion practice and appellate trial support. Jared’s extensive experience encompasses matters involving intellectual property, premises liability, personal injury, wrongful death, property damage, insurance coverage, arson, and insurance bad faith, among others.
Professionally, Jared has been in leadership positions in both local and state bar organizations. He currently is an appointed member of The Florida Bar Standing Committee on Diversity & Inclusion. In the Florida Bar Appellate Practice Section, Jared is an elected member of the Executive Council and chairs the Section's Outreach Committee. Jared is a prolific author and speaker on various topics of appellate practice.
Jared is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeal.
