Robert M. Sagerian is a Deputy Public Defender for the San Diego County Public Defender’s Office. He regularly represents clients for a range of offenses from theft and DUI to domestic violence, drug offenses, and assault. A skilled trial attorney, he routinely takes cases to trial when it is in the best interest of the client. Mr. Sagerian served as section instructor for the University of San Diego' M.S. Law Enforcement curriculum.
Mr. Sagerian graduated Magna Cum Laude from Thomas Jefferson School of Law. While in law school, he served as an editor on the Thomas Jefferson Law Review and earned a Burton Award for Distinguished Legal Writing for his article “A Penalty Flag for Preemption.” Before joining the public defender’s office, Mr. Sagerian worked at Gomez Trial Attorneys, learning the nuts and bolts of personal injury practice from John Gomez, one of the nation’s most recognized trial lawyers.
