About

Sara was born in Houston, Texas before moving to Cheyenne, Wyoming where she graduated from High School. After high school, Sara moved to Seattle, Washington and began her undergraduate studies at Seattle University. Sara then moved to Spokane, continuing her undergraduate studies at Gonzaga University. While working at Gonzaga University, Sara continued pursuit of her undergraduate degree, graduating in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, minor in General Business and Concentration in Women’s Studies.
Before law school, Sara began her legal career as a paralegal to Gonzaga University’s in-house counsel. With that experience, Sara wanted to earn a law degree so she could practice law. During her time in law school at Gonzaga, Sara participated in the Spokane County Bar Association’s Divorce Advice Clinic and clerked at a Spokane firm until her graduation. Sara graduated from Gonzaga law school and gained admission to the Washington State Bar Association in June 2011. At that point, Sara began working as a law clerk at the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Washington handling Social Security disability appeals, helping people work through the difficult channels of receiving disability benefits. After a few years of social security disability work, wanting to make a change, but continue her work in helping people in difficult times, Sara transitioned to general practice, including family law after relocating to the Tri-Cities. In May 2017, Sara joined Ashby Law and now works nearly exclusively on family law matters although she does still enjoy working on social security disability claims as well. Sara holds membership in the Washington State Bar Association, Family Law Section, as well as both the eastern and western federal district courts in Washington. Sara is also a member of the Benton-Franklin Counties local bar association.
In her time away from work, Sara enjoys spending time with her husband and 4 children playing board games and camping. She also enjoys baking, golf and reading.
