  I teach appellate procedure as an adjunct professor at UC Hastings College of the Law. John Rueppel was a student in my Fall 2007 class. He was a great student, a real pleasure to have in the classroom. He was an active participant in class discussions and frequently challenged me with difficult questions about the appellate process. I gave him an "A." He earned it.

  John was my student in an administrative law class. John was an excellent student: always prepared, answering my questions insightfully and to the point, asking penetrating questions of his own, engaged and well informed, able to see things from multiple perspectives without giving up his values, especially his commitment to good governance and environmental protection. John did an excellent job on his midterms: he writes clearly and well, and his answer to the optional midterm was the best in the class, and the one I chose as a model answer, in addition to being absolutely very very good. Not surprisingly, John ended the class with an A. It was a pleasure to have John in my class, and I have no hesitation to recommend him to your attention.
