About

Amanda L.F. Harris is a passionate family and matrimonial attorney. With a PhD in clinical psychology, Ms. Harris brings a unique perspective to what amounts to a legal and lifelong restructuring of almost every aspect of a family’s life. As part of her clinical psychology training, Ms. Harris completed forensic evaluations for the Court and worked with survivors of domestic violence. Very few attorneys can provide this level of expertise to family law matters. Ms. Harris' is a strong litigator and fierce negotiator in matrimonial and family law matters. When the time calls for it, she is also just as comfortable serving as a mediator. Ms. Harris is also involved with the surrogacy movement in New York, working with other attorneys to help pass legislation and support the intended parents and surrogates.
Ms. Harris serves as Vice Chair to the Special Needs Committee for the Family Law section of the American Bar Association and is a former member of the Education and Law Committee for the New York City Bar Association. Licensed both in New York (2017) and California (2013), Ms. Harris graduated with her JD from Golden Gate University – School of Law in 2012, PhD in 2016 and MS in 2013 from Palo Alto University in clinical psychology, and BA in Psychology from University of Miami in 2008. This is the attorney who redefines what it means to be called “counselor.”
